Box Office Predictions – Sidharth Malhotra & Manoj Bajpayee’s Aiyaary

Aiyaary is the solo major release of the week and has been in news ever since its arrival date was juggled around a few times in last one month. The film boasts of credentials like Neeraj Pandey, Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee which promises a classy entertainer with a mass appeal too.

Moreover, the promo has been interesting as well while one song (Lae Dooba) is a good success already.

That said, the film belongs to a genre which doesn’t necessarily see major footfalls on the very first day. A thriller like caters to a particular segment, the kind that Neeraj Pandey has targeted with films like Baby and Special 26.

Both films were Akshay Kumar starrers and while former had collected 9.33 crore on its opening day, latter had brought in 7 crores.

Considering the genre as well as the fact that both PadMan and Padmaavat would continue to fetch audience attention this week as well, Aiyaary finds itself in a three way competition.

Of course, it would still collect the best numbers of the lot and hence an opening day of 6-7 crore seems to be on the cards. It would still need to collect maximum moolah in its first week though since Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety arrives the week later and that film too is already quite hot amongst the youngsters.
