Join UsIt has been a while since a film opened to good numbers all over across mass as well as class centers. The last time when saw some sort of crowds in theaters, it was on the Diwali weekend when Ae Dil Hai Mushkil [13.3 crore] and Shivaay [10.24 crore] opened to a double digit score. That brought in combined collections of 23.54 crore on Friday and then footfalls peaked on Monday, the day after Diwali.
Now that tomorrow is a regular day, one looks forward to Befikre opening to at least half this number. Dear Zindagi has been the biggest opener since Diwali at 8.75 crore and now Bollywood would settle for nothing lesser than 11-12 crore coming in from Befikre. The film boasts of the star presence of Ranveer Singh and with Aditya Chopra at the helm of affairs, one looks forward to a polished product.
Biggest Day One opening of Ranveer Singh’s films have been as follows:
Gunday – 15.86 crore
Ram Leela – 15.73 crore
Bajirao Mastani – 12.8 crore
Dil Dhadakne Do – 10.5 crore
Kill Dil – 6.5 crore
Gunday was a full-on masala film while Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani were epic event affairs. Amongst other films, Befikre is closest to Dil Dhadakne Do in terms of treatment, target audience and genre. The footfalls would be on the same lines as well and once the word of mouth goes out, weekend could well see a greater push in collections.
