PadMan stayed stable on Monday as it collected 5.87 crores more. This was needed as well so that the film could collect between 60-65 crore at the end of its first week.

Currently standing at 45.92 crores, the film is well on track to get into that zone and from there it would boil down to how it stays on once Aiyaary releases on the coming Friday.

Box Office - PadMan is maintaining steady pace
PadMan Maintains A Steady Pace On 1st Monday At The Box Office!

A social film dealing with sanitary hygiene, PadMan has covered this kind of distance too due to Akshay Kumar running the show. It is to the credit of the superstar that there has been nationwide awareness around the subject which is expected to result in better hygiene for women.

Of course, more the footfalls that the film gains, better it would be spread knowledge around the subject which is considered as a taboo in large parts of the society.

From the returns perspective, the film is doing fine since it has been made at a very low cost (around 20 crores) and returns from various avenues (satellite, digital, music etc.) have more than just covered the moolah that has been spent.

Whatever comes from theatrical (both India and overseas) is an added bonus that should help all those who have invested in it bring home a good share. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles. The film is a biopic and has been facing a tough competition from Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor starrer Padmaavat. This Sanjay Leela Bhansali film has made 253.80 crores till date at the box office.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
