The dull opening of Guzaarish Review Link last Friday, at many centres, had sent shock waves in the industry. On the whole, Guzaarish is a beautiful film for the classes but will face rejection among the masses. It will do good business in the good multiplexes and the big cities but not universally so since it does not offer the entertainment which the masses look for in a film. Given its heavy cost, it would entail huge losses to its distributors (UTV). Publicity: very good. Opening was dull, generally speaking.

Box Office Opening: Guzaarish & Harry Potter 7

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows (Part I) is a worthy first half of the last film in the Harry Potter series. It whets one’s appetite for the last part, which should release early next year. A sure shot winner. Publicity: very good. Opening was very good at most of the places.

The other release last week, Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu is a poor show all the way with nil chances at the ticket windows. The film’s opening was pathetic everywhere.

Among the previous week’s releases, none have done even average business. A Flat falls flat on its face. Dunno Y Na Jaane Kyun.. (English/Hindi dubbed) is terribly weak. Ramaa The Saviour has bombed. Skyline (dubbed) is dull. Skyline (E.) is very ordinary in spite of good computer graphics.

On the other hand, Golmaal 3 is the one-horse race. The Rohit Shetty film is going very strong. Action Replayy has gone from bad to worse.
