In the past few years, the box office business model has changed drastically. We have witnessed a considerable increase in films crossing the $1 billion mark. In fact, if we take a look at the current decade i.e. 2011 to 2020, we can see as many as 8 films in the top 10 list of all-time highest grossers. Only Titanic and Avatar are the exception!
The list of all-time grosser is topped by the monstrous hit, Avengers: Endgame. Upon its re-release, the film finally managed to beat James Cameron’s Avatar. Interestingly, out of 10, the top 5 films have a collection of $2 billion and above at the box office. On the list, Avatar and Titanic are on the 2nd and 3rd spot, respectively.

As one can clearly see, from the period of 2011 to 2020, there are 8 films on the list. It clearly shows, how lucrative the decade has proved to be for the cinema.
