Bombay Talkies opened to an average response, what with merely 25% to 30% occupancy at the Domestic Box Office garnering mostly the multiplexes while Shootout At Wadala, another release of the week, vastly occupied the single screens. The film is targeted to fare better in the multiplexes and urban centers as compared to the other rural circuits.
Bombay Talkies which is a compilation of short films doesn’t really have a mass appeal and will surely lag behind the Friday’s other release. Made on a limited budget of 6 crores, each film has had a bare minimum investment of 1.5 crore. Though the films are all well conceived and admirably executed, it would not soar much at box office.
