The year 2018 started with a bang and a lot of confusion. All thanks to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. Because of Padmaavat’s delayed release, all other upcoming releases got shuffled. But soon after the film got released, it was unstoppable at the box office. Padmaavat was followed by some amazing films like PadMan, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (SKTKS), Raid and much more!
We saw some of the most unexpected films which did really well at the box office. We have listed down the 1st quarterly report of the Bollywood films which have released from January to March.

In the first month, Jimmy Sheirgill’s Mukkabaaz was released along with 1921 and Kaalakaandi, but all the three films flopped at the box office. All the three films stood at the total of 10 crores, 15.67 crores and 7.50 crores respectively. Then came the grandest of all, Padmaavat! It got a solo release including the preview screenings. Padmaavat collected 300.26 crores and it is a plus affair at the box office.

Akshay Kumar’s PadMan became a hit at the box office. The film managed to collect 78.95 crores at the box office and it was the first film to enter the list of most profitable films of 2018. This was followed by Sidharth Malhotra’s Aiyaary and Sonakshi Sinha’s Welcome To New York which tanked at the box office. Both the films, Aiyaary and WTNY collected 17.01 crores and 3.00 crores respectively.
Then came the first super-hit film of the first quarter, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety! This film won the hearts of the audience. This film proved that content is the king! It collected 108.46* crores and it is still running in the theatres. Anushka Sharma’s Pari fared a decent amount with its horror streak. It was an average film as it collected 24.65 crores.
Other films like 3 Storeys and Dil Juunglee flopped big time with the collections of 2.25 crores and 1.05 crores respectively. Whereas Urvashi Rautela’s Hate Story 4 enjoyed an average run at the box office with the collections of 20.04 crores.

Last but not the least; Ajay Devgn’s Raid, Rani Mukerji’s Hichki and Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 2 passed with the flying colours. All the three films are hit at the box office. Raid has collected 101.54 crores, Hichki stands at the total of 43.95 crores and Baaghi 2 has collected 155.65 crores.
Well, this quarter has been fruitful and profitable till now. Let’s hope for more bumper and successful year ahead!
