Bhoothnath Returns on its 1st Monday remained steady at the box office by virtue of its part-holiday benefit on the eve of Ambedkar Jayanti. The film made 4.50 crores on its 1st Monday at the box office and with that the domestic total has now risen to 21 crores at the box office.

The film still did not pick up at the single screens. However, at multiplexes of urban centers, it is managing to strike a chord with most. Though slightly preachy, the humor of the first half and Bachchan’s presence is crowd-pulling for sure. The film did well in Tamil Nadu because of a public holiday in the state due to the Tamil New Year and also in Maharshtra-Gujrat because of the Ambedkar Jayanti holiday. The film can be expected to soar over the weekdays as well but might face stiff competition from 2 States beginning Friday.
