Bhoot Box Office Day 1: Vicky Kaushal’s Film Opens Well As Per Predictions

Bhoot Box Office Day 1: It was predicted in this column that Vicky Kaushal’s film would take an opening in the range of 4-6 crores. This is what happened too as the film collected 5.10 crores on Friday. For a film belonging to the horror genre, this is a fine enough start. Of late, there has hardly been a horror film that has managed to find footfalls and hence a beginning like this is encouraging indeed.

The film has a multiplex oriented theme to it, unlike the many horror films that Vikram Bhatt used to make till a few years back that catered to single screens audiences as well. With no female lead or music to support the genre, it pretty much boiled down to Vicky Kaushal bringing in the audience and hence a start like this is some sort of a platform at least.

Partial holiday of Maha Shivratri did help the cause to some extent and hence if the numbers stay around the same levels today as well, it would be a fair enough hold. The Karan Johar production has been made on a controlled budget hence recovery would start coming in very quick time.
