Amid Navratri and Dussehra festivities, we saw multiple films arriving at the Indian box office, but apart from Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo, no film has been able to emerge successful so far. From Tollywood, we saw two biggies locking horns in the form of Nandamuri Balakrisna’s Bhagavanth Kesari and Ravi Teja’s Tiger Nageswara Rao. Keep reading to know more!

Balayya’s action drama was released on 19th October, clashing with the dubbed version of Thalapathy Vijay‘s Leo in Telugu states. Despite that, it took a good start, but from the very next day, it went down and failed to hit a double-digit score on any day. Yes, it got affected due to a loss of screen count as Ravi Teja’s film was released on 20th October.

For Bhagavanth Kesari, it’s the end of a 6-day theatrical run. On Tuesday, i.e., day 6, the film was expected to show a huge jump due to the Dussehra holiday by going above the mark of 10 crores, but that didn’t happen. It raked in 9.10 crores, taking its total to 58 crores net at the Indian box office. It’s quite low considering the budget is said to be above 90 crores.

Coming to Tiger Nageswara Rao, it took an average start and failed to show any growth in the collection over the opening weekend. Even on day 5, it didn’t improve much, and as a result, just 24.10 crores net came in at the Indian box office.

If the numbers of both films are combined, the collection stands at just 82.10 crores net, which is really disheartening.

Upon its release, Balayya‘s Bhagavanth Kesari opened to mixed critics’ reviews, but word-of-mouth has been decent. Despite that, the numbers that have come are not impressive. Speaking about Tiger Nageswara, it opened to average reviews from critics and the audience.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Nandamuri Balakrishna and Ravi Teja have clashed at the box office. In January this year, during the festivities of Sankranti/Pongal, Balayya came with his Veera Simha Reddy. It took a flying start with 30 crores+ net coming in. However, the next day, Chiranjeevi and Teja’s Waltair Veerayya arrived in theatres, which damaged Balayya’s film. Eventually, both films did good business, but Waltair Veerayya had the upper hand.
