Bajirao Mastani, after seeing a good opening on Friday, has consolidated well over the weekend. It kept seeing an escalation in collections and as a result, the total so far stands at 46.77 crore.
Now it is time for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film to build on from here. Since the reviews have been all around positive and the appreciation is there as well, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Co. would be breathing much easier now. The footfalls are bound to be stable during the weekdays and then see a rise again in the second weekend, considering the big holiday of Christmas.
The film has now found its place amongst the Top-10 opening weekends of 2015, and is currently at No. 7 position:
Bajrangi Bhaijaan – 102.6 crore Prem Ratan Dhan Payo – 101.47 crore Dilwale – 64.09 crore Singh Is Blinng – 54.44 crore Brothers – 52.08 crore Welcome Back – 51 crore Bajirao Mastani – 46.77 crore ABCD – Any Body Can Dance – 2 – 46.35 crore Gabbar Is Back – 40 crore Tamasha – 38.23 crore The film is now set to have a much bigger Week One that Ranveer-Priyanka’s Dil Dhadakne Do [57 crore] and Deepika’s Tamasha [53.46 crore]. However, the eventual distance that Bajirao Mastani would manage to cover would be much clearer once the second weekend is through.
