Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bade Miyan Chote Miyan actor was in a rocking form and was even termed a ‘consistent’ Kumar due to back-to-back theatrical successes. He had the best time in 2019, where he delivered not one or two but three 200 crore net grossers in the form of Mission Mangal, Housefull 4, and Good Newwz. After the COVID-19 pandemic, Akshay Kumar has only delivered one successful film in the form of Sooryavanshi. Yes, OMG 2 was a success, too, but it didn’t feature Akshay in a main role and had Pankaj Tripathi in a lead role. Post Sooryavanshi, Akshay has witnessed a string of theatrical flops with Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, Selfiee, and Mission Raniganj.

Sooryavanshi came in November 2021, so it’s been almost two and a half years since Akshay Kumar has tasted box office success (as a lead actor).
After back-to-back failures, Akshay Kumar desperately needs one box office success, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan looks like a perfect comeback vehicle. In present times, lavish action films are doing wonders at ticket windows if they strike the right chord with the masses. Here, the director is Ali Abbas Zafar, who has given blockbusters like Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. He’s capable of giving big-money spinners.
