Exhibitor Akshaye Rathi talks about the performance of Baby and Dolly Ki Doli; and their sustainability. And also gives his word on this week’s multiple releases Khamoshiyan, Hawaizaada and Rahasya and which amongst the three will take the lead.
“Baby and Dolly Ki Doli are doing well in their own respective space. I expected more from both the films as Baby is slightly more commercial than Special 26 and Dolly Ki Doli being a quirky film which caters to audience of all the age group. Well, the collections are not bad, but the movies deserved better numbers. Talking about their run at the Box Office alongside three movies Khamoshiyan, Hawaizaada and Rahasya which hit the screens today, I think, Baby having done well in the first week, with the positive word of mouth it will get a good showcasing in its second week.”
He added further, “On the other hand Dolly Ki Doli will get two shows a day. Coming to the three movies that hit the screens today, Khamoshiyan being a horror- erotica may take the lead among the other two movies (Hawaizaada & Rahasya) and also has the widest release comparatively. Music is another factor that will help the movie draw a decent occupancy. The buzz is little for Hawaizaada and is a multiplex film, hence it will see a limited business. Rahasya has a niche release and its screen count is so small that even if it does good business, it will still be small.”
