Article 15 Box Office Day 1 Morning Occupancy: Ayushmann Khurrana and Anubhav Sinha’s film Article 15 has hit the theatres today and it has kick-started with a lukewarm response.

Talking about the morning occupancy, Article 15 has taken the opening of 15-20% all over the country. We have seen that this year’s films with content have worked well at the box office, and as far as Ayushmann is considered, the actor has the credibility of pulling off money spinners despite a slow start.

Recently, the Badhaai Ho actor expressed his views about making Article 15 declared as tax-free. Asked if Article 15 should be declared tax free by the state governments in India, he said: “I definitely feel that this film should be declared as a tax free film because it is necessary that this film should reach every part of the country. It’s not a comedy or an entertaining film. It is based on a vital subject, so it should reach maximum number of people.”

Article 15 is based on Article 15 of the Indian Constitution that prohibits discrimination of Indians on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth, and it takes inspiration from true life events.
