Interestingly, Happy New Year which released in Diwali 2014, still holds the record of highest Bollywood opener of all time which is 44.97 crores, while Salman’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which released last year in Diwali, holds the 2nd spot with an opening collections of 40.35 crores.

Coming to lifetime biz., Hrithik’s Krrish 3 holds the record of highest Diwali release grosser, which is 240.5 crores.

In 2012, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardaar clashed at box office during this festival and both fared well.
Same can be expected this year, as two big Bollywood films Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay are clashing at the box office during the Diwali weekend.
After Golmaal 3 and Son of Sardaar, Shivaay is the 3rd Diwali release for Ajay Devgn.
