Over the weekend, the unthinkable happened when Sanam Re defeated Fitoor by a margin. Yes, former had a bigger release but that’s because the makers were confident of better footfalls too. Moreover, for a film which has been made at less than one third the cost of the Abhishek Kapoor directed biggie, the game was wide open on the opening day itself when it took a much better opening.

While that ensured that Sanam Re would now be on a safe path, the Monday collections have been decent enough to promise a stable week. The film brought in around 2.56 crores more and now stands at 19.61 crore mark. Buoyed by a good jump on the Valentine’s Day, the film is now heading for a first week of around 26-28 crore, which would be a fair result for the Divya Khosla Kumar directed affair.

Fitoor lost all its chances on Friday itself and though there was a marginal and decent jump on Saturday and Sunday respectively, it doesn’t really count as the overall outcome would still stay on to be a disaster. When a film is being compared with Bombay Velvet, which is now a set standard when it comes to matching disasters, the picture is pretty much clear that where it is headed. With around 2 crore* more coming in, the film is now in the vicinity of 16 crore*. Ideally, these should have been the collections of the first two days for the film. Expect the film to fold up after a week’s run.

Note: All collections as per production and distributor sources

* Final numbers Of Fitoor will be updated soon
