The Industry has been baffled with Dangal debutante Zaira Wasim’s announcement of quitting Bollywood because of her career acting as a barrier to her religion. Several actors like Raveena Tandon, Anupam Kher, Sidharth Malhotra came forward to share their views on it.  But, what caught our attention is Zaira’s own family member who has revealed that the decision didn’t come in as shock to them and that it had already been on the cards!

Several family and friends came forward to reveal the truth from the back-end in a conversation with First Post. To start off, it is being said that the actress relentlessly fought even for her debut movie since she belongs to a conservative part of the country and the parents feared the society’s perception.

“They were perhaps thinking how people would react, if they came to know about their daughter’s acting decision,” Zaira’s cousin said. “One can’t blame them given the prevailing situation in Kashmir. They feared social boycott,” they further revealed to the development.

Moreover, the 18-year-old had faced massive backlash as soon she entered the Industry, struggled to tackle for a while but finally forfeited.

“She initially tried to handle trolls and online abusers with her positivity, but with time, it set her thinking. For those who knew Zaira, her decision didn’t come as surprise. She was trying to create her niche in the industry which at the end of the day even compels someone like Parveen Babi to commit suicide. It’s good that Zaira understood the muck early in her life and moved on with her faith,” revealed her schoolmate, Shazia.

With new revelations, we have no idea to what exactly the truth is, but hopefully peace shall prevail for the actress and she be happy with her decision.

Last Saturday, Zaira officialy announced through a social media post that she’s quitting her film career because of religious reasons.
