Join UsThe industry is gearing up for the release of Salman Khan’s much anticipated Eid release, Race 3 and the trade is quite excited taking the film given the fact that is an action film starring Salman Khan in lead.
Although, on ground the hype as of now is nowhere close to Tiger Zinda Hai, the trade is optimistic that things will change once the makers unveil the theatrical trailer of the film this week. The film, which is the third instalment of the successful Race franchise has Salman Khan leading the pack supported by Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Shaqib Salim, and Daisy Shah.
As the film is nearing its release date, the producer, Ramesh Taurani is in talks with multiple studios to lock a distribution deal for the film. While multiple negotiations are going on, YRF and Eros are in lead contention to buy the film. Initially, even Fox Star Studio was in talks, however they later on opted out as they didn’t have enough bandwidth to release two major Bollywood films in a span of 14 days.
While YRF is in talks to distribute the film on commission basis, Eros International is in talks to acquire the worldwide distribution rights of the film on Minimum Guaranty Basis i.e. outright sale. The deal is expected to be sealed soon, and an official announcement will be made with a week’s time.

That apart, the theatrical trailer of the film is ready and the makers will launch it this week at an event in Mumbai in the presence of entire star-cast. The team have decided to keep a short 40 – 42 day marketing campaign, as a build up for the film release.
According to sources, the film will release in 3D, which has generated a considerable amount of hype within the trade, although an official confirmation is still awaited.
