Veteran Bollywood actress Nanda, aged 75, passed away Tuesday morning. The actress was known for her roles in hit films such as Hum Dono (1961) and Gumnaam (1965).

Coming from a film background, she was the daughter of Vinayak Damodar Karnataki, a Marathi film actor-director. After starting off as a child artist, the actress debuted in V Shantaram’s ‘Toofan Aur Diya‘.

After this there was no looking back for this star, she later starred in hit films such as ‘Dulhan‘, ‘Bhabhi‘, ‘Jab Jab Phool Khile‘ and many others. She was last seen in Rishi Kapoor and Padmini Kolhapure starrer ‘Prem Rog‘ (1983).

Engaged to Manmohan Desai, who died after falling from his apartment’s terrace, the actress remained unmarried post this incident.
