While the glitterati and stardom oozed in every bit of the night at the pompous premiere of Jab Tak Hai Jaan, the leading lady of the Yash Raj Banner, who delivered the longest running and the biggest hit “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge”;Kajol was nowhere to be seen. Huh!
Yes! That comes as a teeny bit of surprise, as Kajol shares a great friendship with Aditya Chopra and was one the most favorite Yash Chopra actress, in addition to being Shah Rukh’s very good and close friend. What’s more surprising is that sources say that Kajol was not invited for the event held as to pay homage to the “King of Romance” Yash Chopra ji. While the other leading ladies from all Yash Raj Films made their presence felt, the most prominent one was missing. Was all this because of the JTHJ-SOS tussle? We wonder!
While the event was a huge hit, and brought all Khans – Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, and the whole Film Fraternity under one roof, some prominent names were missing. The name that was at the helm of deciding and planning for the event, was Rani Mukerji, Aditya Chopra’s “very” close friend, who also decided the names to go on the guest list, as far as news flows in. Now Rani and Kajol, despite being cousins don’t share a very healthy relationship that is evident to the world, but was the tussle between the two Production houses; Yash Raj and Ajay Devgn’s the prime reason for such decision. It was harsh on Kajol.
Kajol had recently been spotted saying to Gerald Butler, that she is supporting Son Of Sardar, as it’s her husband’s film and from their own production house.
A close source to Yash Raj quips that Kajol was not on the invitee list. And even in a prior interview Ajay said he was uncertain whether she would be invited or not and even mentioned that he had no qualms about Kajol attending the event if she was invited.
Now a very close source to Aditya Chopra jumps in Aditya’s defense and says that Kajol was certainly invited, and there was no pressure from her husband Ajay, not to go for the premiere, since Adi and Kajol are very close friends, there was no pressure from Adi’s end even to attend the gala event. Kajol was left with the choice whether to attend or not, and Kajol did give a miss to the event in order to keep at bay unnecessary controversies, in turn keeping the loyalty up for her husband and his film.
But certainly all are unsure who and what to believe. Was it really that Kajol was not invited? Or it was that she was invited but she chose not to attend? Or there was all together a different angle to all of it?
