With his rich and varied experience in Bollywood, Salman Khan should know how to pick a winner. So, when he endorses the Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer I Hate Luv Storys (Images), expectations are sky-high. Not just because of the fresh promos of the film (Read More) or the buzz around this new on-screen jodi, but also because the response after a private screening held yesterday (June 30) has been phenomenal.
In attendance were Sonam’s dad, Anil Kapoor, while Imran showed up with his fiancé Avantika Malik. Karan Johar already seem to be getting into the We Are Family (First Look) mode and was accompanied by his mother Hiroo Johar. Farah Khan and hubby Shirish Kunder were there too, and so were Sammir Dattani and Sanjay Kapoor. Director Punit D Malhotra showed up with his fashion designer-uncle Manish Malhotra.
Congratulations poured in after the screening. Tarun Mansukhani, director of Dostana, was all praise for Sonam Kapoor, “Sonam is the perfect representation of young girls today… Fun, Sassy and determined. Feels so good to see a nice clean young fun film after so long…” Vishal Dadlani, who’s composed the music of the film, said, “Great job, Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor. You guys were completely natural and believable.”
Punit D Malhotra said, “Tremendous response from everywhere. Had a phenomenal cast and crew screening. The smile on a single viewers face makes all the problems we go through seem like the smallest price to pay.” On the other hand, Karan Johar, the producer of the film, pitched the film as the “perfect candy floss” for a “romantic rainy day.”
If we are to go by all this, it seems that Salman won’t be disappointed in the least. The actor, who’s shooting for Ready in Sri Lanka, might catch the film in a special show.” As early as June 12, Salman had tweeted, “Wanna see I Hate Luv Storys, Imran show na dude. Seeing promos and loving it, all the best dude, think this is a big one.”
To be sure, Imran Khan tweeted, “IHLS promotions have kept me really busy the last few weeks… Thank you all for the love and good wishes. It means more than I can say.”
