Every year around the elections, rumors about celebrities joining politics surface on the internet. Back in 2020, Kangana, in an interview with Times Now, went on to claim Urmila is a soft p*rn actress. She confessed that her remark was blatant but continued to question Matondkar’s acting skills, adding, “What is she known for? For doing soft p*rn, right? If she can get a ticket, why won’t I get a ticket?”

A lot of Bollywood celebrities were irked by the remark made by the Emergency actress. Swara Bhasker, Thappad director Anubhav Sinha, Farah Khan, and Pooja Bhatt, among others, praised Urmila Matondkar’s contribution to Bollywood and landed their support. Things heated up when Kangana Ranaut targeted the Rangeela actress again and questioned the legitimacy of funds (close to 3 crores) spent on her new office in Mumbai.

This did not go well with Urmila Matondkar, who released a video in response. She demanded a one-on-one with Kangana, where she would produce all her documents proving the money spent on buying the office was from earnings she made before joining the political world.
She added, “Here’s what I want in return: Your government has given you Y-plus security because you told them you had a list of names for the NCB. The nation awaits your list. The nation is going through tough times and we have to fight the drug menace together. So, all I want is you bring that list when you come.”

Anyone who knows Kangana Ranaut knows she wouldn’t take a step back. She responded, “Dear @UrmilaMatondkar ji maine jo khud ki mehnat se ghar banaye woh bhi Congress tod rahi hai, sach mein BJP ko khush karke mere haath sirf 25-30 cases he lage hain, kash main bhi aapki tarah samajhdar hoti toh Congress ko khush karti, kitni bevakoof hoon main, nahin (the Congress is demolishing the homes I built with hard work. All I managed after placating the BJP? happy are around 25 to 30 court cases. I wish I was as smart as you are, and pleased the Congress instead. So silly of me, right)?”
It was in 2019 that Urmila made her debut in the political world. She joined the Congress and contested from the Mumbai North constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha Election. She joined Shiv Sena in 2020.
On the other hand, Kangana Ranaut is a supporter of the BJP-led Modi government. She has hinted at joining politics numerous times, but nothing has been official yet! It is to be seen whether the actress will contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
