Every singer who wanted to make his mark in Bollywood, has always tried to imitate Kishore Kumar at one point of time or the other. Kishore sang in almost 9 languages and was multi-faceted, dabbling as a lyricist, composer, producer, director, screenwriter and scriptwriter.

Kishore Kumar

For a singer who never had any formal training in music, Kishore Kumar rolled out evergreen numbers like ‘Mere Sapno Ki Rani’, ‘Roop Tera Mastana’ and countless others. His most memorable songs were with composers Laxmikant-Pyarelal, R. D. Burman, Madan Mohan and Kalyanji-Anandji. He even acted in comic films like Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Half Ticket and Padosan.

Some of the legendary singer’s unreleased songs, composed by late musical genius Madan Mohan, will be released on the composer’s website www.madanmohan.in. on the occasion of Kishore’s 23rd death anniversary.

The versatile playback, Rabindra sangeet and rock n roll singer passed away in Mumbai on October 13th, 1987, from cardiovascular disease.
