Varun Dhawan Out, John Abraham IN For Rohit Dhawan’s Vedalam Remake?

Director Rohit Dhawan’s next film which is a remake of Vedalam has been in the headlines for the past couple of days. While there were speculations that brother Varun might lead the film and he denied later, now the grapevine has it the John Abraham may step in as the lead and below are all the details you would want to know about the same.

There were reports that Varun’s brother Rohit is making the Hindi remake of the South drama Vedalam which stars Ajith and is being produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-series.

Now as Varun has clarified that he is not a part of Rohit’s next, a source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama that Rohit is aiming to rope in a top action star and wants John to step in.

The source said, “Rohit Dhawan’s next is a remake of the south film Vedalam that released in 2015. Being an action film that featured Ajith, Rohit was pretty clear that he too would need an A-list action star for its Bollywood remake. Now John Abraham, who has already proved that he is perfect for an action entertainer was an obvious choice for it.”

Further talking about the project, the source continues, “Though there still is time before the venture goes on floors, the Vedalam remake is currently being backed by Bhushan Kumar, and will be produced under his banner T-Series. In the past, Bhushan and John have collaborated on multiple projects, and with T-Series coming on board, John’s part as the lead in this actioner was further reinforced.”

The film is yet untitled and is set to go on floors in mid 2020.
