The hero stands at the end of the station, the heroine turns and walks away. The hero whispers to himself, ‘Palat, palat’. And on cue, the heroine looks back, smiles and he knows she’s all his. Bollywood has imbibed an irreversible idea of romance in our minds with the whispered sweet nothings, endless songs in Switzerland and the happily ever afters. We are even used to referring to lovebirds as Raj-Simran. Let’s take a look at the Bollywood on-screen couples who remind us of the sweetest romances on Valentine’s Day.

Shah Rukh Khan – Kajol
Though they came together in Baazigar and Karan Arjun, it was only as the legendary Raj-Simran in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge that the on-screen lovers raised the bar of romance and ever-lasting love. Their jodi went on to recreate the flawless magic in films like Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… and My Name Is Khan.

Shahid Kapoor – Kareena Kapoor
The couple nailed it with the ‘opposites’ act in Jab We Met. And though they may not be together in real life, we would love to see their reel-life chemistry on-screen again.

Abhishek Bachchan – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
They may have had a couple of duds before they made the unlikely couple in Guru. Maybe it’s their real-life chemistry that makes them look so good on-screen. The rugged Bachchan with the gorgeous Aishwarya also look lovely in their ads, so a good movie is just a script away.

Imran Khan – Deepika Padukone
He was the calm and composed half of their on-off relationship in Break Ke Baad and she completed him with her fiery and rash persona. And the young couple complemented each other so beautifully in the film that we just cant wait to see them together again.

So which couple do you think are best suited for Valentine’s Day?
