Baba Azmi, who is the director of photography for Aamir Khan’s chat show on television, can’t stop singing the superstar’s praises for his thoughtfulness and meticulous planning. The chat show, to be hosted by Aamir, is also being produced by him, and Aamir was so particular about the arrangements being right for the participants in the show that he personally took care to ensure that everyone on the sets would be comfortable when the show was being shot. Says Baba, “It is uncanny but a good 20 days before the shooting began, Aamir instructed his production unit to keep four guys on the sets stationed at fixed places only and solely to ensure that there was no short circuit on the set.” Continued Baba, “Their job would be to only keep their eyes open for any electrical mishap on the set.” And yet, after the first episode was canned, the set was partially gutted in a fire which, thankfully, did not cause injury to anybody. Incidentally, the shooting of the second and all future episodes will happen at Yash Raj Studios and not at Madh Island where the set had been erected. Explains Baba, “Aamir was not comfortable shooting on that set after it caught fire. It was his decision to change the studio.”
