
The black-and-white silent movie, The Artist, swept the 84th Academy Awards with 5 golden statuettes. After more than three decades, actress Meryl Streep bagged her third Academy Award for her role in and as The Iron Lady. Closer home, Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy won an Academy Award for her documentary, Saving Face, about acid attack victims.
