Plot: As an assassin, Clooney is constantly on the move and always alone. After a job in Sweden ends more harshly than expected for this American abroad, he retreats to the Italian countryside. While there, he takes an assignment to construct a weapon for a mysterious contact, Thekla Reuten. Clooney accepts the friendship of local priest Paolo Bonacelli and pursues a torrid liaison with a beautiful woman, Violante Placido. Clooney and Placido’s time together evolves into a romance, one seemingly free of danger. But by stepping out of the shadows, George Clooney may be tempting fate.
Expectations: George Clooney might be an excellent actor and crowd puller, but the film failed to enthuse the US audiences. Average expectations.
