Actress Rhea Chakraborty had been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Wednesday in connection with the drug angle in Sushant Singh Rajput case. Her brother Showik was arrested on September 4. Both had reportedly filed for bail plea and the sessions court in Mumbai has reserved its order till today. The verdict will be out tomorrow.
Both Rhea and Showik had approached the court under the NDPS Act after the Magistrate court rejected their bail requests on Wednesday. The hearing of Rhea’s bail plea took place on Thursday and her lawyer Satish Maneshinde argued that bail should be provided since NCB’s arrest was illegal.
To which NCB had made a counter-argument, as reported by Republic TV, that the arrest was made on the basis of Showik’s confession that Rhea had procured drugs. On the contrary, Satish Maneshinde said that Zaid used to supply drugs to Anuj Keswani, Kaizan, Samuel Miranda and Deepesh Sawant before Rhea became Sushant’s girlfriend. The lawyer further argued that NCB had coerced the actress into making confessions and that no drugs were seized from her.
