SRK’s Raees To Go On Floors On 1st November

Rahul Dholakia’s directorial Raees that is to be produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment is all set to go on floors in November.

With much debacle surrounding the film after Farhan Akhtar apparently walked out of the venture, the film will roll start on 1st November with Farhan sharing screenspace with Superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Ritesh took to Twitter to announce the same. He wrote, “All those asking #Raees begins filming on 1st November with @iamsrk & @FarOutAkhtar”

Replying to this tweet was King Khan himself, lacing his words with humor. He said, “@ritesh_sid you will give me a day off on my Birthday na and not be an anal tough producer please.” The actor’s birthday is on the 2nd of November and he seems to have booked off the day already.

Meanwhile, SRK is on his way to completing the filming of Farah Khan’s next Happy New Year in which he stars with his Chennai Express lead lady Deepika Padukone. Reports in the media had earlier suggested that Raees was a project on priority for the production house which had infact been instrumental in delaying Kareena Kapoor Khan and Farhan Akhtar starrer Bombay Samurai too. Though Ritesh Sidhwani had clarified that the film’s pre-production was still not tied up, many others close to the production house maintained that the SRK starer was more important to Excel.

The film’s lead lady is still in question. After Katrina Kaif denied being a part of the product, many had believed that Sonam Kapoor is being considered for the role. The Kapoor fashionista however did not confirm being a part of it though she admitted playing Salman’s lead in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. This film will apparently see SRK playing a Gujarati don and a bootlegger. How much of these speculation are true is yet to be seen.
