A family drama, the film still manages to appeal alike to both the old and the younger generation. A film which was peculiar of that era, it was a grand success. As the kids of 90s still happily reminisce about Madhuri’s awe striking dance sequences in the film and the songs which are still a favourite hit at weddings, the film is all set to be scheduled for a remake adding to it a more modern touch!
The character of the adorable Prem, who stole every girl’s heart way back then with suave charm and amazing sex appeal was played by Salman Khan in the original. The heartbreaking news here is, the character will no longer be played by Salman Khan!
What’s shocking here is the makers are contemplating on assigning the role to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh khan.
Our anonymous source informed to a leading daily, “The thing that Shah Rukh, who will be playing Prem’s role in ‘Hum Apke Hain Kaun’ remake, has nothing to do with his cold war with Salman. Irrespective of their personal lives we chose Shah Rukh. However, it should not be mistaken that we are no longer fond of Salman, but it was that he has a number of movies lined up to shoot for and did not have any dates available till next year.”
While the female fan following of SRK was enough to make a tedious film like Jab Tak Hai Jaan, a hit, the role of Prem as set in the hearts of the audiences is betrothed to Salman Khan undoubtedly. To replace Salman as the Prem of Hum Apke Hai Kaun is as hard hitting-ly for us as replacing SRK as the Raj of DDLJ, if Aditya Chopra were to remake the cult film.
