Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has landed in fresh controversy this time on a peculiar issue. The news reports last week suggested that actor Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan are planning to have a baby boy through surrogacy.
But the news hasn’t gone down well with the Indian Radiological and Imaging Asssociation (IRIA) who are going to take special note of the facts sprawled by news sources. Since sex determination tests are illegal in India, the Pre-Conception Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act of IRIA forbids any measures taken to know the sex of the child before, by law.
Since the disrupted male-female ratio is a brewing issue in Maharashtra specifically, authorities are strict about illegal sex determination that has been happening in the State under wraps. However, if the sex determination was done outside India, which is possible in SRK’s case, the case wouldn’t stand valid. However, no foolproof confirmation has come from SRK so far.
