One hasn’t heard the last of Shah Rukh Khan‘s films clashing with others. Just when it is certain that his Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardaar are going to indulge in some mighty face off this Diwali, here is more. Apparently, his Chennai Express and Happy New Year are eyeing Eid and Christmas release next year. However, trouble in paradise is that these dates are already booked by Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan.

“It is already a two way battle between Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar next Eid with Sher Khan (or remake of South flick ‘Brindavanam’) and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 clashing with each other. Even though latter is progressing fast, former is yet to begin. Still, Salman’s presence is guaranteed on Eid. It would be clash of all times if Shah Rukh’s Chennai Express also hits the screens on the same day. Let’s not forget that Salman’s power in Eid is undefeated while Akshay’s OUATIM 2 has a strong Muslim flavour to it,” comments a source.
On the other hand it is just apt that Shah Rukh releases his Happy New Year next Christmas as the timing would be just perfect. However yet again there is a biggie already planted for this day, what with Aamir Khan’s ‘P.K.’ being booked for that day.
“Just like Salman is synonymous with Eid, Aamir and Christmas go well together. Moreover, the film is being directed by Rajkumar Hirani and the combination is way too lethal, especially after 3 Idiots. On the other hand Farah Khan’s subject for the Shah Rukh starrer is the key here as it is centred on the New Year,” the source continues.
It is understandable if Shah Rukh is eyeing these dates since the only other choice, Diwali, is already booked by Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan for Krrish 3. With all key dates already occupied, the panic button is already being pressed as box office in the recent past has shown that holidays play a major role in a film being a superhit or a blockbuster, case in point being Ek Tha Tiger which benefited immensely from Eid.
