In the first match of the sixth edition of Indian Premier League, Shah Rukh Khan’s team Kolkata Knight Riders hailed a bombastic victory over Delhi Daredevils by six wickets!

With Bollywood merging in with sports in such a grand way, IPL every year is the most emphatically amazing months for Indian audiences! Last evening after the defending knights held on bravely to their victory from the previous year, Team owner Shah Rukh Khan along with actress Deepika Padukone took a celebratory victory lap around Eden Gardens to emphasize their win heartily.

Chennai Express team of SRK and Padukone gave their best triumphant glances! It is almost evident that IPL 6 is a perfect time for SRK to promote his upcoming film, Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express and a lot of the goodwill factor which will work in favour of the film depends on the performance of his team Kolkata Knight Riders this IPL.

Meanwhile, the city of Joy – Kolkata, has never been this elated before. With Pitbull giving them a gala performance at the opening ceremony and the spectacular win last evening, every Kolkatan is truly rejoicing! Around 50,000 people watched the International rapper Pitbull perform live on Tuesday evening at Kolkata’s swanky new Salt Lake Stadium. This was a record in IPL’s history of the most enthralling opening ceremony till date, setting the bar higher for the seasons to follow!
Shah Rukh Khan who is almost the brand ambassador of the city by virtue of KKR announced to the media after the victory, “I get so much happiness and love from the city of joy, to be honest. I have experienced lot of goodness and niceness in life but what I get in Kolkata, KKR gets in Kolkata, all our friends, my children, our family, the whole KKR team -we feel so happy. I think we owe it to the city that we share some joy some energy whatever little in our small way we do.”
