Last week we had reported how Ajay Devgn had made his intentions crystal clear around making it on time for the Diwali arrival. Soon after, pre-booking of his ‘Son of Sardaar’ had opened with a bang and an announcement was pretty much made to the world that there won’t be any backing off whatsoever. Well, here is the latest. Within hours, pre-booking of Shah Rukh Khan‘s ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ also opened, hence intensifying the battle.

“As expected, day of release mentioned by both as 13th November. If at all there was ever any doubt around Shahrukh and Ajay clash being averted, it is now final that Diwali clash is for the keeps. Guess it’s time we stopped speculating on whether it would be averted after all. With pre-release plans in open for both the biggies, the advance collections would be very closely monitored,” says a source.

While the initiative is currently running only at PVR multiplexes, it would be good enough to gain trends around the lead that one of the two films would eventually end up taking.

“With this swift move, it can now be said with complete confidence that neither of the two would be backing out. With the film’s pre-booking opening good three weeks in advance, there is no scope for retracting either. After all, people would have paid for their tickets,” comments an observer.

This also implies that Bollywood can brace up for the biggest Diwali clash ever with huge records all set to be created.

“This is as fair as a battle as it can get,” says an industry bigwig, “Next three weeks would be a clear indicator of which way these films are going. All this while the clash was pretty much in thin air but now with pre-booking opening three weeks in advance, the countdown has begun. Expect the makers of both films to start flashing progress of their films in days to come.”

Meanwhile, another film which is silently finding some attention coming it’s way as well is ‘Talaash’ which started it all. The film’s pre-booking had opened many weeks ago and now with Aamir Khan intensifying the film’s promotion, it should only gain further heat.
