While Steven Spielberg got a taste of ‘hindustani mehmaan nawaazi’ in his recent visit to India, Farah Khan is getting a taste of a royal welcome in Japan. Ever since she has set her feet in the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan, for the premiere and release of Om Shanti Om, she has been occupied with multiple events that are ensuring that the visit turns out to be memorable indeed.
“Named as ‘Koi Suru Rinne Om Shanti Om’ in Japanese, the film is now playing in Japan. However it isn’t just the red carpet welcome for the film’s show which she was looking forward to. In fact there have been quite a few other events that have been planned for her. She arrived on Wednesday and ever since then she has been meeting quite a few bigwigs there, both from the world of entertainment as well as Government”, informs a source.

Indian embassy planned one such event as well.
“Just like Spielberg who was made to feel ultra special by the Indians, now Farah is toast of the town in Tokyo. Indian embassy planned a welcome party in her honour”, informs a source from Eros that has ensured a mega release for the film.

For Farah, it has turned out to be a home away from home, what with billboards, posters and other publicity material of Om Shanti Om occupying good media space in the foreign land. No wonder, Farah is currently soaking into the Japanese hospitality and enjoying her place under the sun. Her recent tweet post was on these lines, “Japan premiere has been a huge success! I am overwhelmed with nostalgia and the love that Japanese have given me. Thanks to Team Eros for taking our film to so many countries.”
Adds the spokesperson from Eros, “We continue to make inroads into new markets internationally for Indian films. In the last one year, we have had some major releases in Japan including Robot, Sivaji, Ra.One and now Om Shanti Om. Eros has been the front runner in exploring new territories for Indian films and we continue to develop new markets for our old and present releases.”
We look forward to that.
