Sonam Kapoor starrer Neerja which is a biopic on brave heart Neerja Bhanot has now been declared tax free by Maharahstra government. The film after receiving rave reviews from critics and also adulation from the audiences will now have a better viewership thanks to the tax exemption.
Thanking the Maharashtra government for the same, Sonam tweeted, “A big Thank You to the Government of Maharashtra for making #Neerja tax free with immediate effect. Humbled.”

Since Maharashtra is one of the biggest centers for consumption of Bollywood films and also has the highest entertainment tax in the country. Hence it is a great move to make a film like Neerja tax free.

The film deals with the life of flight attendant Neerja Bhanot who sacrificed her life for saving her passengers on flight Pan Am 73 that was hijacked in Karachi.
