Sonam Kapoor has been roped in to play the main protagonist in the movie adaptation of the best-selling novel, The Zoya Factor opposite Dulquer Salmaan.

Malayalam actor and son of veteran South actor Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan is all set to make his debut in Bollywood with Ronnie Screwvala’s Karwaan (which also stars Irrfan Khan, and Youtube sensation, Mithila Palkar) is a known fact.

We have been hearing the news that Sonam Kapoor has been roped in to play the main protagonist in the movie adaptation of the best-selling novel, The Zoya Factor. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, “It’s an interesting character and Dulquer has liked the script. While he has committed to the project he is yet to sign on the dotted line,” informs a source.

The book narrates the whimsical tale of a PR executive, Zoya Solanki, played by Sonam Kapoor who was born at the moment when Indian had lifted the 1983 World Cup. During an assignment, she comes across a low-on-spirits Indian cricket team who invites her to have breakfast with them. When they win the match that day, the team, as well as the media, hail Zoya as the lucky charm of the team. This puts her at crossroads with the handsome captain, who believes luck has no place on the cricket field.

The report suggests that Sonam had confirmed her part in the movie, “Super excited to work with amazing sister duo, Aarti and Pooja Shetty, with the brilliant Abhishek Sharma on Anuja Chauhan’s Zoya factor (sic),”

Sonam is busy with her upcoming movie promotions. Padman is directed by R. Balki, the movie will feature Akshay in the lead role. On the professional front, Dulquer was last seen in Malayalam-Tamil film ‘Solo’, helmed by Bejoy Nambiar and Malayalam film ‘Parava’ by Soubin Shahir. The actor will be next seen in Karwaan alongside Kriti Kharbanda, who would be essaying the love interest of the South Indian heartthrob.
