Sonakshi Sinha is busy promoting her upcoming movie ‘Khandaani Shafakhana’ in which she is playing a very quirky character. She takes over her uncle’s clinic after he dies, who was a sexologist and talks about ‘sex and sickess’ through the trailer. Sonakshi is simultaneously shooting for Parbhu Deva’s Dabangg 3 opposite our very own ‘Chulbul Pandey’ aka Salman Khan and Mission Mangal opposite Akshay Kumar.

Recently, Sonakshi spoke to The Indian Express and mentioned about the labelling of the films and how she hates it. She said, “I just want this whole thing of calling a film led by a female artiste ‘woman centric’ to go away because when an Akshay (Kumar) or a Salman (Khan) does a film, no one calls it a male-centric film. A film is a film. Period. We should stop categorising them. We should treat them as equals.”

Sonakshi Sinha Questions Why Akshay Kumar & Salman Khan’s Films Are Not Labelled As ‘Male Centric’

Sonakshi has been very experimental with her roles in Bollywood. We have not seen her repeating the same genre again and again to which she said “I want to be that actress whom a filmmaker can think of putting in any kind of film. That’s what I have been doing for the last nine years. That’s what keeps me engaged with my work and makes me love it more.”

Sonakshi also commented on her female co-star from Mission Mangal, Taapsee’s statement on getting male stars for films with strong female characters and said, “It’s true. This is a mindset that should change because I think it would be really nice to have men supporting women for a change. I would also like to see that in Hindi films. Now, why that happens you should ask the men.”
