Her ‘thappad se dar nahi lagta, pyaar se lagta hai‘ was the kind of peg that raised Sonakshi Sinha to instant stardom from the very first moment when the dialogue was played in ‘Dabangg‘. Now for the film’s sequel, she does drop a hint that yet again there would be some iconic dialogues at play.
She smiles, “As a married couple in the film, there are lot of sweet moments between Salman and me. Some conversations themselves are so witty and that too ‘Dabangg‘ style. It is a nice change for me to get some marriage romance on screen. So yes, there is something this time around too but I can’t give it away so soon.”
Meanwhile she adds that while she has caught the ‘sur’ of being a ‘Dabangg‘ heroine already, it was akin to getting into a comfort zone when the sequel came calling.
“It is comforting because Khans (Salman and Arbaaz) are always a fun to work with; it is like going back to the home base. Moreover, since I had worked with the crew before, there is a definite familiarity factor that came in because certain understanding has already been developed”, she says.
From playing a girlfriend to wife, Sonakshi admits seeing a change in graph of her character.
“Playing a wife comes with its own challenges. In real life I am totally different but for Dabangg I have to be this small town girl who has just been married to Chulbul Pandey. For someone like him who is quite a character in his own right, you have to be just the right life partner, isn’t it”, smiles Sonakshi before signing off.
Also starring Prakash Raj as the baddie-in-charge, Arbaaz Khan directed ‘Dabangg 2‘ releases all over on 21st December.
