There is a lot of confusion about the villain of Ek Villain. Recently, the story of Shraddha Kapoor being the prime villain of the film went viral.

However, when we asked the film’s director, Mohit Suri to comment on the same, he replied, “My film is not the traditional film. It doesn’t go down the usual hero-villain route. My film goes to an entirely different, newer plain. Riteish and Sidharth cross path halfway through the film, before interval itself. It isn’t as if one is waiting for the end of the film, the traditional meet et al, the action and then the movie races towards climax. It is a newer format and I guess it is impossible for people to imagine the kind of twists and turns ahead.”

So one would assume that Suri is navigating his way out carefully, refraining from letting out the film’s climax and crux. Mohit continued diplomatically, “This film is not so much of a ‘who done it’. There is no doubt about who has done what in the film. It is more about how these characters turn into big villains or heroes in the end. This is why it is called Ek Villain, there is one in every love story. The hero would be a villain for a villain’s love story. If you had a villain in love, the hero would be the villain there. This was the theme my writer came up with. It is not about who did who, who killed who but about how the villain comes out in all these characters.”

So, Mohit are you trying to give us a hint that Sidharth could be the ‘Villain’ in Riteish’s love story and vice versa? Well, one has to wait and watch out what the climax holds for us. The film hits the screens on 27th June.
