Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has been accused of assaulting and manhandling animal rights activists in a Andheri (Mumbai) colony. The activists have alleged that the singer abused and manhandled them over a dispute on feeding stray dogs.
A complaint was filed against the singer at the Amboli police station. According to the complaint, a resident of the Lokhandwala colony had approached the activists on account of stray dogs in his area being poisoned. To look into this matter, a group of ten activists set up a meeting with the building’s managing committee.
Apparently it was in this meeting that the singer got hostile and abused the women and even pushed them. The police have agreed to file an FIR after examining the CCTV and will hear both sides before coming to a decision.
