What’s keeping the Bollywood stars busy on Twitter.com this week?

While Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One opened to mixed reactions last week, Shirish Kunder just couldn’t help taking a dig at the star. “I just heard a 150 Cr firework fizzle,” he tweeted. Ouch! Considering that Farah Khan and Shah Rukh are good friends who just patched up after Tees Maar Khan, Shirish’s comment definitely did not help. Shirish, however, remained unapologetic, “Whenever there is a current event discussed widely, there are 10,000 jokes floating around. I too made one. No big deal. Be sportive! As far as satires are concerned, I’ll continue tweeting them.”

Akshay Kumar Teaches Civic Sense

And here we thought we had it enough of stars coming on our screens and parroting a line or two about how smoking is injurious to health or how we should preserve our heritage.

Akshay Kumar, however, took his role a bit off-screen as well. The actor caught a man throwing his empty packet of cigarettes on the road and gave him a piece of his mind. And he also posted it on Twitter.com, “Not only do we have to put up with the fact he smokes but we also have to deal with the fact that he doesn’t care a damn about his city or his motherland that God has so graciously provided for him… I’m no angel, I drive a car, I fly in planes, sometimes I accidentally leave the light on, but I consciously try everyday not to dirty or abuse our city. Question is do you?… I cant help it i love my country, i just cant cant stand those who dont…”

While we’re all for the actor going out of his way and trying to keep his city clean, we just find tweeting about it and preaching a bit too much. What do you think?

Bollywood Stands Up For Keenan & Reuben

The shameful death Keenan Santos and Reuben Fernandes in Mumbai did not go unnoticed in tinsel town. Bipasha Basu, Anupam Kher, Sandhya Mridul, Minissha Lamba, Ayesha Takia Azmi and others tweeted their support for the youngsters who died while trying to protect their friend. Mahesh Bhatt even tweeted, “Spoke to the Home Minister of Maharashtra. He has assured Keenan & Reuben’s family that the judicial process will be fast tracked.” Hope this doesn’t get swept under the carpet.
