You heard it abso-flippin’-lutely right! Mr. India is coming back with a bang! The film, way ahead of its times formed the base of technology advancements and techniques in Hindi films then. The Boney Kapoor produced, Shekhar Kaour directed film robbed in a million hearts with its effective screenplay and a beautiful plot. ‘Mogambo khush hua’ became a catch phrase and there was no looking back!
25 years later, the producer-director duo is finally back to make a sequel of the 1987 superhit film, which would again star Sridevi and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles. For Sridevi, who has sizzled with her comeback performance in the absolutely wonderful English Vinglish, Mr. India 2 would be her next film. Anil Kapoor, India’s international male icon has also been roped in to essay the lead in the sequel.

Shekhar Kapur who was busy with his other commitments could not give much attention to Boney’s idea of the sequel and hence the delay. Shekhar initially only wanted to provide help as a creative consultant but Boney always wanted him to helm the project. And if rumours are to be believed, there would be a special role crafted for Bollywood’s most bankable star Salman Khan who will pack in the surprise punch. He might just be offered the role of the villain in the film.

The film which is set to release in 2014 will hopefully rise up to all the euphoria surrounding it and recreate the same magic it did two and half decades back.
With such technological advancements in the world today where man is making rapid strides to the Moon, it would be interesting to see how Mr. India 2 packs in all its flavor amidst the gizmo freaks today!
