The past week was probably one of the darkest weeks in the history of Indian Cinema. We lost two of the finest actors with Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan. While the families of these actors is mourning, the whole nation is feeling the gaping hole left by both these veteran actors. And seasoned actor Shatrughan Sinha is no different.

While Shatrughan Sinha called one an actor-star and the other a star-actor, he had a special message for Ranbir Kapoor too on his father, Rishi Kapoor’s demise. Opening up to Mumbai Mirror, Sinha said, “After Rajendra Kumar and Rajesh Khanna, he became the poster boy of romance with his style. But Ranbir has big shoes to fill because baap baap hota hai. One can’t compare the two at the moment.”

Not just Rishi Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha was also mourning the loss that Irrfan Khan’s demise is to the industry and global cinema too. “Irrfan was a combination of struggle, determination and conviction. He made his dream come true through hard work. I watched Hindi Medium and Angrezi Medium and his acting will be a textbook experience for younger generation of actors.”

Shatrughan Sinha and Rishi Kapoor have been part of some much-loved films like Naseeb and Sinha was seen alongside Irrfan Khan in Aan: Men At Work. Both these exceptionally talented actors lost to a long and painful battle with the dreaded cancer.

While Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with a rare neuroendocrine tumor, he succumbed to the illness on the 29th of April 2020 at the age of 53, while Rishi Kapoor breathed his last on the 30th of April 2020 at the age of 67. The Bobby actor fought a long battle with cancer since 2018.
