Shahid Kapoor As Batman?
A news channel incorrectly tweeted that Shahid Kapoor would be starring in the Hindi remake of The Dark Knight while it was supposed to be the Tom Cruise starrer, Knight And Day. You can imagine the kind of backlash that news got on Twitter. Bollywood Gandu surmised it best with his tweet,”The only role @shahidkapoor should be allowed to play in the remake of The Dark Night is Robin. Yes I know there was no Robin.”
Priyanka’s Cleavage, Juhi Blushes
These best film awards have the short end of everything. So when Juhi Chawla saw a, er…, revealing hoarding of Priyanka Chopra, the bubbly actress was not pleased. “Just watched Dirty Picture last night !!Driving to Juhu now … on the way is a huge SCREEN AWARDS hoarding .. With a pouting Priyanka in the tiniest of blouses ..pleAse someone tell why does a respected screen award for excellence in cinema need such a marketing gimmick ???” she tweeted.
Even with all those gimmicks, we wonder how many people actually tuned in to watch the awards.
Goodbye Nikhat Kazmi
Noted film critic Nikhat Kazmi passed away on January 20 after stuggling with breast cancer. The passing of the 53-year-old critic was mourned by the Hindi film industry:
