Shah Rukh Khan & Sunny Deol End Their 27-Year-Long Rivalry THIS Way?

Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol collaborated for the first-ever time in the 1993 film, Darr. The film turned out to be a game-changer for SRK as he was hailed for his villainous portrayal. Unfortunately, the latter did not appreciate his thunder being stolen and the villain being glorified in the film. And that started their rivalry, which lasted for 27 long years.

However, it looks like Shah Rukh Khan is willing to bury the hatchet finally and has done something out of his way. If recent reports are to be believed, Sunny Deol wishes to remake his 1993 blockbuster project, Damini with son Karan Deol in lead. The original starred Sunny along with Rishi Kapoor and Meenakshi Sheshadri. However, the rights remain with SRK’s production house, Red Chillies Entertainment and producers Aly and Karim Morani.

When Shah Rukh Khan came to know of Sunny Deol’s plans, he himself decided to drive all the way to his Darr co-stars house. Not just that, he visited Deol without any prior-notice and handed Damini rights over to him. That indeed is a sweet gesture, and we’re sure their rivalry must be over with it!

For the unversed, Darr starred Sunny Deol, Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. While the former played the protagonist, SRK played the villain in the film. Issues started post the Ghayal actor shared that he felt the villain was glorified in the film and given more weightage. Moreover, he revealed having a quarrel with Yash Chopra over a scene too.

Talking about the same in an old interview with India Tv, “I was doing a scene in the film where Shah Rukh stabs me. I had a heated discussion with Yash Chopra regarding that scene. I tried explaining that I am a commando officer in the film, my character is an expert, I am very fit, then how can this boy (Shah Rukh’s character in the film) beat me easily. He can beat me if I can’t see him. If he can stab me while I am looking at him, then I won’t be called a commando. Since Yash Ji was old, I respected him and couldn’t say anything. I put my hands inside my pocket as I was very angry. Soon, out of anger, I didn’t even realise that I had ripped my pants with my hands,” shared Sunny Deol.
