Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan certainly are two true blue superstars. While the duo has their own set of insane fan following, they also did make for a very charming onscreen pair in films like Josh, Mohabbatein, and the evergreen Devdas!

However, despite starring in such successful films, SRK and Ash never made it to a happy romantic couple on or off-screen! Now, we have stumbled upon a throwback video where King Khan himself has expressed disappointment over the fact that the very first film outing he had with the ‘most beautiful women in the world’ had him play the brother to her!

Well, as hilarious as this sounds, Shah Rukh Khan made his disappointment about not having a happy ending film with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan loud and clear. SRK went on a jest while presenting an award to Aishwarya during a throwback ceremony at the Lux Timeless Beauty Awards and said, “I have been very unlucky with Aishwarya. Its a shame that in our first film (Josh), Aishwarya, the most beautiful woman in the world, in the universe and even beyond on all the planets, was my sister. She played my twin sister and people even told me that we look alike. I am still living in this misunderstanding that though I played her brother, I at least look like her.”

Further talking about their stint together in Devdas and Mohabbatein, King Khan quipped, “Everything was in place (during Devdas) but I left her and when I returned, she had left me. I have been very lucky that I never got the opportunity where she could love me, I could love her (on-screen), Mohabbatein me ye bhootni thi.”

Shah Rukh also said that he did try very hard to do an all-out romantic film with Aishwarya that would be like any other film with a happy ending to it. The superstar duo was last seen in a cameo in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
