Actor Sanjay Dutt’s doomsday has finally struck. The actor, who was convicted for his involvement in the 1993 Mumbai Blasts case, is expected to surrender before 4 pm today. He will be handed over to Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail soon after.

However, citing threat issues from extremist groups, Dutt appealed to the court to allow him to surrender in Pune’s Yerawada Jail amidst tight security. He clearly doesn’t want his tragedy to become a media hunted debacle in the past, which also is one of the most important reasons for the appeal.

Sanjay Dutt, whose next film Hum Hai Rahi Car Ke is expected to release next Friday, will be missing his film’s premiere. This instance is evoking a strong sense of melancholy reminding most Bollywood insiders of the first time the actor was arrested for his involvement in the 1993 Bombay Blast case, 3 weeks prior to the release of the film Khalnayak.
