It’s Bollywood’s baba Sanjay Dutt’s 60th birthday today, but looks like it may not be a merry one! Although, Kannada superstar Yash’s KGF makers have given a surprise to all his fans with unveiling Dutt’s character of Adheera from KGF: Chapter 2 today, the actor had plans of his own until he got served with a legal notice. Yes, you heard that right and it’s regarding the remake of the 2010 Telugu blockbuster Prasthanam.

Sanjay Dutt was planning to reveal the first look of the Prasthanam remake but due to issues regarding its rights, which production company, Shemaroo Entertainment, claims had already acquired, the actor has been stuck in legal trouble.

Ketan Maru, Shemaroo’s Senior Vice-President confirmed the same in a conversation with Bollywood Hungama as he revealed, “Yes, we have sent a legal notice to Mr Dutt and others associated with the remake of the 2010 Telugu film, Prasthanam. That’s because we at Shemaroo have the remake rights of the film.”

Terming it as an ‘illegal’ remake, he further shared, “We are not proceeding legally against this illegal remake to create trouble for them. We only want to see justice being done in this matter. And as far as we can see, anyone else except us remaking Prasthanam is illegal. We acquired the rights of Prasthanam in 2012. When we read the announcement of Mr Dutt’s remake, we immediately drew attention to the fact that the remake rights of Prasthanam were with us. However, they paid no attention and proceeded to remake the film.”

Only time will tell what the truth remains, but for now, all we can hope is for this matter to solve and the actor to have a peaceful day!
